Walnut and Red Birch Entertainment Unit

Made to order for a commission, this entertainment unit houses the audio and video components of a home theatre system in an attractive and functional free-standing case.  The unit carcass is made of maple red birch veneer faced with 1/4" resawn walnut such that all opposing faces are book-matched. The large top is made of birch veneer with a solid beveled walnut trim.
The carcass is made of two nested boxes such that all wiring to and from the unit and between the A/V components run in the space between inner and outer boxes, out of sight. The inner box supports solid walnut edged shelves that are adjustable to accommodate different component configurations. The area between the front and rear legs is open to allow storage of LPs or to install a powered subwoofer.
The unit is finished with natural Danish oil and satin polyurethane to bring out the beautiful grain and colours of the wood.

Cocobolo and Maple Entertainment Unit

This entertainment unit houses the audio and video components of a home theatre system in an attractive and functional housing.  The unit carcass is made of maple plywood faced with 1/4" cocobolo. The large top is made of maple veneer and solid beveled cocobolo edging.
The carcass is made of two nested boxes such that all wiring to and from the unit and between the components run in the space between inner and outer boxes, out of sight. The inner box supports solid maple edged shelves that are adjustable to accommodate different component configurations. The front and rear legs are open to allow a power subwoofer to be installed below the shelving system.
The unit is finished with natural Danish oil and satin polyurethane to bring out the beautiful grain and colours of the wood.

Turntable Sound System Mobile Unit

This piece was commissioned for a sound mixing enthusiast as a home-based sound centre. The top has cutouts for two below-deck mounted turntables and a large audio mixer. The outer two sections of the carcass are used to store albums and the centre section has adjustable shelving for audio components. The top of the back is fitted with power, audio and speaker outlets and is hinged for access under the top and the main wiring channel to the centre section. Castors and cavity handles are installed for easy moving. Unfinished.
Dimensions: 67"W, 24"D, 39"H and can be customized as needed.
