~ Shelves ~

Children's Shelves Sitting down to design something with a child is a exceedingly  rewarding and revitalizing lesson in  the power of immagination.  There is just a free flow of ideas and the designer's task is to execute on them.

In this case, the shelves were to show off a collection of Tolkein characters from "Lord Of The Rings" but the available space was limited.  The shelves are deeply curved while the uprights between the progressivly smaller shelves flow with similar curves.  Reveals in the back allow panels to be inserted (not installed) into each diorama which can contain a painted or sculptured background scene. A break in the central shelf depicts the gulf between the main centers of power in the book.

Simple, bold and practical design creating a spacious storage area for multiple sizes of books, collections and special childrens toys. 
The unit may be customized to the size and theme of the childs bedroom or playroom and painted or stained as desired.  Hidden brackets for mounting can also be designed in.
